Good Thursday morning, Patriots, and welcome back to O'Connor's Right Stand. I'm your host, John O'Connor, software programmer by day, conservative choose seeker by night. Before we get started, I wanted to share something with you. In the podcast world, we call this a CTA, a call to action, and I try not to be pushy with these, but I do want to let you know how you can help if you're enjoying the show. If you're listening on audio right now, I'm also on YouTube. Just search O'Connor Podcasts, one word.

00:28
And if you haven't already, consider hitting that subscribe button. I'm starting to see some good growth over there and it really does help more people discover the podcast. As a quick heads up, if you see Alex O'Connor pop up in the search results and there is no relation, that's not me. And trust me, if you like my content, you definitely won't like his opinions. His channel keeps drowning mine out in search results, so finding me directly really helps. I appreciate you listening. Now, let's get into our discussion.

00:59
On Tuesday morning at 10.07 a.m., House Oversight Committee lawyers called the deposition of former President William J. Clinton to order. His seat was empty. Yesterday morning at 10.07 a.m., they did it again for former Secretary State Hillary Clinton. Her seat was also empty. This is a bipartisan subpoena. Democrats and Republicans voted for it. Yet both Clintons refused to show up, and now they are facing contempt of Congress charges.

01:29
Here's what should make your blood boil. Steve Bannon went to prison for four months for defying a congressional subpoena. Peter Navarro went to prison for four months for defying a congressional subpoena. Both were prosecuted and jailed. So, the question is simple. Will the Clintons face the same justice? Or are some people truly above the law? Today, we are breaking down what happened, the absolutely ridiculous letter the Clintons sent to Congress,

01:58
the two-tier justice system on full display, and most importantly, what you can do to demand accountability. The right stand starts now.

02:23
Let give you the timeline, because as always, the details matter. On July 23rd, 2025, the House Oversight Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee voted unanimously to issue subpoenas to 10 individuals for testimony about Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. That vote included both Republicans and Democrats. It's a voice vote, no objections. Among those 10 people, Bill and Hillary Clinton.

02:51
Chairman James Comer issued the subpoenas on August 5th. That's over five months ago, Patriots. Bill Clinton's first scheduled deposition? October 14th, 2025. He declined. Said he needed to attend a funeral. Rescheduled for December 17th. He declined again. Same excuse, funeral. So Chairman Comer said, fine, we'll accommodate you. Just give us alternative dates in January.

03:20
You know what Bill Clinton's lawyer said? No. Wouldn't provide any alternative dates. So, Comer set the deposition for this past Tuesday, January 13th, and Bill Clinton just didn't show up. Hillary Clinton story? Exact same pattern. First date, October 9th, declined. Rescheduled for December 18th, declined. Funeral, rescheduled for yesterday, January 14th, she didn't show up either. Five months.

03:49
three rescheduled hearings, multiple accommodations, and both Clinton's simply refused to comply with a lawful congressional subpoena. Now, here's what makes this especially galling. This subpoena was issued by a bipartisan vote. Democrats on that subcommittee voted yes. Ranking member Robert Garcia, a Democrat from California, he voted for this subpoena too. And you know what Garcia has said in the past about defying congressional subpoenas? Quote.

04:18
Defying a congressional subpoena is highly illegal. No one is above the law." So where was Garcia on Tuesday? Where was he yesterday? Not a single Democrat showed up to either deposition. Not one. These are the same Democrats who hold press conferences on the Capitol steps talking about getting justice for victims. The same ones who scream about accountability and rule of law. But when it's the Clintons, suddenly...

04:47
They're nowhere to be found. Think about that for a second. They voted for the subpoena. Then they abandoned it the moment their political allies decided not to comply. What does that tell you about their commitment to accountability? So what did the Clintons do instead of showing up? They wrote a letter. And Patriots, this letter is something else. On Tuesday, both Bill and Hillary posted the same statement to their social media accounts. Caption.

05:16
This is not about right or left, it's about right and wrong. They disabled comments on both posts, because of course they did. The letter starts with this. This past year has seen our government engage in unprecedented attacks, including against our own citizens. What acts are they talking about? Brace yourself. Quote, people have been seized by mass federal agents from their homes, their workplaces, and the streets of their communities, end quote.

05:46
They are talking about ICE agents. They are complaining about federal immigration enforcement. They even specifically mention an ICE agent killed an unarmed mother, referring to the Minneapolis shooting where an activist who was trained to confront ICE agents got shot while interfering with an arrest. Her name was Renee Good. Bill and Hillary Clinton are using leftist talking points about

06:11
ICE and federal law enforcement to justify refusing to testify about Jeffrey Epstein. They are hiding behind the very narratives they helped create, claiming government overreach and federal abuse, all to avoid answering questions about their relationship with a convicted pedophile who trafficked children. The letter continues, Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences.

06:40
For us, now is that time. Let me translate that for you. We are heroes for refusing to comply with the law. We are patriots for defying Congress. We are freedom fighters for protecting ourselves from accountability. The audacity is breathtaking. Their lawyers also sent an eight-page legal argument claiming the subpoenas are invalid and legally unenforceable, untethered to a valid legislative purpose.

07:09
unwarranted because they do not seek pertinent information and unprecedented infringement on the separation of powers. They even compare Chairman Comer to Joseph McCarthy. Yes, seriously. Let me ask you this. If you have nothing to hide, if you have no relevant knowledge, if everything is innocent, why not just show up and say that under oath? Why refuse for five months? Why reschedule three times?

07:39
Why send dramatic letters about fighting tyranny instead of just answering questions? I'll tell you why. Because they are betting on the same thing they've always bet on, that the rules don't apply to them, that they can delay, deflect, and defy until people forget that their political connections will protect them from consequences. And you know what? Based on history, that's a pretty damn good bet. Here's what's getting buried in all the political theater.

08:08
This subpoena was bi-partisan. Chairman Comer didn't just wake up one day and decide to subpoena the Clintons. No, the federal law enforcement subcommittee, which includes both Republicans and Democrats, voted unanimously to issue these subpoenas. Do you understand what that means? Democrats looked at the evidence and said, yes, we need to hear from Bill and Hillary Clinton about their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Democrats voted to compel their testimony.

08:38
And it's not just Republicans who think the Clintons should testify. You know who else said they should comply? John Stewart. Yes, that John Stewart. Former host of The Daily Show, liberal comedian, not exactly a MAGA guy. When asked if the Clintons should comply with the subpoena, Stewart said, and I quote, I absolutely do, abso-effin-lutely. I put that my own effin in there.

09:04
When was the last time Jon Stewart agreed with House Republicans on anything? But even he sees that refusing a congressional subpoena is wrong. Democratic Representative Ro Khanna from California, an oversight committee member, told NBC News that Clinton should appear for testimony. So this isn't partisan.

09:33
This is about whether Congress has the power to compel testimony, whether investigations can happen, whether accountability exists. But most Democrats, they are hiding. They voted for the subpoena, then disappeared when enforcement time came. Think about your own workplace for a second. Imagine your company has a problem, let's say missing inventory. Management forms an investigation team, mix of people from different departments.

10:00
The team unanimously votes to interview everyone who had access to the stock room. But then when it's time for interviews, the manager's friends just don't show up. They send letters saying the investigation is invalid. They claim it's a witch hunt. What would you do? Would you shrug and say, oh well, guess we can't investigate our friends or would there be consequences? Because that's exactly what's happening here. Bipartisan subpoena, unanimous vote.

10:29
But when it's time for accountability, suddenly half the team goes silent. Let me ask you something, Patriots. I want you to really think about this. What happens at your job when someone consistently breaks the rules? Let's say you've got a coworker, let's call him Bill. Bill shows up late every single day. Bill misses deadlines. Bill talks back to the boss. Bill undermines projects. The first time Bill does this, maybe his boss gives him a warning. Bill...

10:58
You need to be on time. You need to meet your deadlines. Bill nods, says he understands, then does it again the next week. So the boss gives him another warning. Bill, this is serious. If this continues, there will be consequences. Bill apologizes, makes excuses, blames everyone else, then does it again. At some point, and we all know this, the boss has a decision to make. Do you keep issuing warnings that mean nothing or do you fire Bill?

11:28
Because here's the reality, if you keep threatening consequences but never follow through, what incentive does Bill have to change? None. In fact, it gets worse. Because now the entire office is watching. They see Bill getting away with it. They see the boss making threats he doesn't keep. And they think, hmm, why should I follow the rules if Bill doesn't have to? That's called institutional collapse. And it starts the moment you stop enforcing accountability.

11:59
So now let's talk about Congress. The Clintons were subpoenaed in August. That's five months ago. They rescheduled. They delayed. They made excuses. First hearing, October 14th. Bill claimed he couldn't make it. Second hearing, December 17th. Bill claimed he had a funeral to attend to. Third hearing, January 13th. This past Tuesday. Bill just didn't show up. Hillary's turn yesterday. Same pattern. Didn't show. Five months. Three rescheduled hearings.

12:29
Zero compliance. And what have the consequences been so far? Nothing. More warnings, more letters, more, we are very disappointed. Meanwhile, Steve Bannon defied one subpoena and went to prison for four months. Peter Navarro defied one subpoena and went to prison for four months. So what incentive do the Clintons have to comply? They have learned the lesson. If you're powerful enough, if you're connected enough, if you're a Democrat,

12:58
The rules don't apply to you. Here's what kills me about this. Congress keeps saying we are investigating, we are holding hearings, we are demanding accountability. But when people refuse to show up, what happens? More strongly worded letters? Bannon and Navarro can tell you what real accountability looks like. It looks like a prison cell. But for the Clintons, it's been five months of excuses and ev-

13:26
Let's talk about the double standard, because it's not subtle anymore. Let's start with Republicans. Steve Bannon, Trump's former chief strategist. The January 6 committee subpoenaed him. He refused to comply, citing executive privilege. Convicted. July 2022, two counts of criminal contempt of Congress.

13:56
Sentence, four months in federal prison, served his time in Danbury, Connecticut from July 1st through October 25th, 2024. Peter Navarro, Trump's trade advisor, same situation, refused to comply with the January 6th committee subpoena. Convicted, September 20th, 2023, two counts of criminal contempt of Congress. Sentence, four months in federal prison, served his time in Miami from March 19th through July 5th, 2024.

14:25
Both men were the first White House officials in history to be imprisoned for contempt of Congress. Before them, nobody had been jailed for this crime in over 60 years. The judge in the Navarro's case literally told him, you are not a victim. You are not the object of political prosecution. You have received every process you are due. And you know what? They went to prison. They served their time. Now let's look at the Democrats, the other side. Eric Holder.

14:54
Obama's attorney general refused to turn over documents related to the fast and furious gun trafficking scandal. Held in contempt by Congress, June 2012, jail time served zero. The Justice Department, which Holder ran, declined to prosecute him. The case eventually got settled years later with no criminal charges. Lois Lerner, IRS official who weaponized the agency to target conservative groups. Held in contempt by Congress, May 2024,

15:24
Jail time served zero. DOJ declined to prosecute, no charges. She retired with full benefits. Merrick Garland, Biden's attorney general, refused to turn over audio tapes of Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Urr. Held in contempt by Congress, June, 2024, jail time served zero. DOJ declined to prosecute. Shocking, right? The Justice Department declined to prosecute their own boss. And there are 50...

15:54
15 Biden cabinet officials currently defying congressional subpoenas. 15 right now with zero consequences. So now we have Bill and Hillary Clinton refusing a bipartisan subpoena to testify about Jeffrey Epstein. Will they face the same justice as Bannon and Navarro? Or will they walk free like Holder, Lerner, and Garland? I think we all know the answer. But let me ask you this. Is that acceptable? Because if Republicans go to prison and Democrats don't,

16:23
for the exact same crime, then we don't have a justice system. We have a political weapon. This isn't just about the Clintons. This isn't just about Epstein. This is about whether Congress can do its damn job. Think about what congressional oversight means. Congress investigates. They hold hearings. They subpoena witnesses. They demand documents. Why? Because they are supposed to be a check on power. They oversee federal agencies. They investigate wrongdoing.

16:52
They hold people accountable. But if powerful people can just refuse to comply with subpoenas, then oversight dies. Let me paint you a picture of what this has allowed. Hunter Biden's laptop refused to testify. Biden family corruption refused to testify. IRS targeting conservatives refuses to testify. FBI surveillance abuses refused to testify. Nothing.

17:19
can be investigated if refusal has no consequences. And here's what really gets me. The same people who scream about January 6th being an attack on democracy are now defending the Clintons for attacking congressional authority. You can't have it both ways. Either Congress has power or it doesn't. Either subpoenas mean something or they don't. Either we're a nation of laws or we're a nation of political favors. The precedent being set right now is catastrophic.

17:49
Bannon and Navarro went to prison for defying a partisan committee investigating January 6. A committee with no Republican input. A committee Nancy Pelosi handpicked. The Clintons are defying a bipartisan committee investigating a convicted child sex trafficker. A committee where Democrats and Republicans voted to issue the subpoena. If Bannon goes to prison but the Clintons don't, what's the message?

18:17
Only Republicans face consequences? Congressional oversight only works against one party? The law applies differently depending on your political connections? That's not justice, that's tyranny. Next Wednesday, January 21st, the House Oversight Committee will vote on contempt resolutions for both Clintons. If the committee votes yes, which they almost certainly will, it goes to the full House for a vote. Now, Speaker Mike Johnson has already said he supports holding the Clintons in contempt.

18:47
He told reporters, I think clearly he's defied a subpoena of Congress. It shows contempt for Congress and the people are owed answers. So the House will likely vote to hold both Clintons in contempt of Congress, probably passes on a party line vote maybe with a few Democrats joining. Then what? It goes to the Department of Justice. Attorney General Pam Bonney has to decide, do we prosecute? This is where it gets interesting because Pam Bonney is a Trump appointee.

19:16
She's already said that the Justice Department under Biden had a cold case languish for four years, referring to the January 6th pipe bomber. She's committed to equal justice under the law. So she has a choice. Does she prosecute the Clintons the same way Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were prosecuted, or does she decline like Eric Holder's DOJ declined to prosecute him? If she prosecutes, Democrats will scream it's political. They will call it a witch hunt.

19:46
They will say Trump is weaponizing the Justice Department. Never mind that they prosecuted Bannon and Navarro. Never mind that this is a bipartisan subpoena. Never mind that the Clintons had five months to comply. But if she doesn't prosecute, she's admitting there are two justice systems. She's saying Republicans go to prison, Democrats don't. She's confirming everything conservatives have been saying about the weaponization of government. My prediction, she prosecutes.

20:15
and the case goes to court, and the Clinton's lawyers fight it for years, appeals, delays, motions. Bannon served his four months. Navarro served his four months. The Clintons, they will probably die of old age before ever seeing the inside of a courtroom. But here's what should happen. The House votes for contempt. DOJ prosecutes immediately. Fast-track trial like Bannon and Navarro got. Conviction, sentencing, prison.

20:45
Equal justice under the law. Same crime, same punishment. Doesn't matter if you're a billionaire, political dynasty, or a podcaster. The law applies equally. Will that happen? I'm not holding my breath. Patriots, let me bring this home. This is not about Jeffrey Epstein. This is about whether Congress can do its damn job. This is about whether there are two justice systems in America. This is about whether powerful people are above the law.

21:14
Steve Bannon went to prison for four months, Peter Navarro went to prison for four months. They defied a partisan committee investigating January 6. Bill and Hillary Clinton defied a bipartisan committee investigating Jeffrey Epstein. Five months of delays, three rescheduled hearings, multiple accommodations, and they still refused to show up. If they walk free, the message is clear. Only Republicans face consequences. We cannot let that stand.

21:43
Make calls to your senator or house representative. I don't care if they are Republican or Democrat. If you don't know who your congressional leaders are, go to google.com, search who is my representative or who is my senator. Click the first.gov link and type in your zip code. Send those emails, amplify this story, make it too big for Congress to ignore. Next week, we'll see which members of Congress have the courage to vote for equal justice. And after that,

22:10
We'll see if Pam Bondi's Justice Department is different from Merrick Garland's. The rule of law depends on what happens next, so don't sit this one out.
