But Patel didn't back down. He fired right back at Booker, calling his comments "false information" and refusing to be intimidated. The exchange turned into a shouting match until Chairman Grassley had to intervene.

And you know what the best part is? President Trump himself backed up Patel over the weekend, saying: "I am very proud of the FBI. Kash and everyone else, they have done a great job" - in reference to catching the Charlie Kirk shooter. So much for Booker's prediction about Trump cutting Patel loose!

Wednesday brought us the House Judiciary Committee hearing, and if anything, Patel was even more devastating to the Democrats on his second day. The hearing lasted nearly five hours, and throughout that entire time, Patel systematically dismantled every single Democratic talking point.

The Democrats were absolutely obsessed with the Jeffrey Epstein files, trying to suggest that Patel was somehow covering up information to protect President Trump - which he strenuously denied. But here's what really happened: Patel told the committee that nothing in the files indicated that others were involved in Epstein's sex trafficking operations, but acknowledged that the mishandling of an earlier federal probe had hampered efforts to obtain a full picture of his crimes.

Patriots, this is called following the law and the evidence. The Democrats wanted Patel to release information that would damage President Trump, regardless of whether it was credible or legally permissible. When he refused to play their political games, they accused him of a cover-up.

Senator Richard Blumenthal even had the audacity to tell Patel: "I'm not going to mince words. You lied to us. In the short time that you've been FBI director, you've presided over a rash of retaliatory firings."

But Patel set the record straight: "The only way people get terminated at the FBI is if they fail to meet the muster of the job and their duties. And that is where I will leave it. And you accusing me of lying is something I don't take lightly."

Let's give credit where credit is due on the Charlie Kirk investigation. The FBI and Utah law enforcement took the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, into custody on Thursday night after his family contacted authorities. The arrest took place roughly 33 hours after Kirk's shooting.

Patel revealed that the FBI is investigating a group chat on Discord where Robinson allegedly confessed to the killing before he was arrested. Robinson allegedly posted messages saying: "Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I'm sorry for all of this."

Patel told lawmakers: "There are a number of individuals that are currently being investigated and interrogated, and a number yet to be investigated and interrogated, specific to that chat room. So we are very much in our ongoing posture of investigation."

This shows that the FBI is doing real police work, following up on leads and investigating potential accomplices. But instead of praising this success, Democrats tried to turn it into a scandal because Patel was being transparent with the public.
